GENERAL JOB STATEMENT
Based in our Corporate Headquarters in Jackson, MN, this position is responsible for assisting the grain/feed department and purchasing assigned grain and feed ingredients for company owned feed mill. Grain merchandising responsibilities will include buying grain, entering contracts and tickets, filing, and mailing contracts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
COMMODITY PURCHASING – Corn
Responsible for corn procurement including purchasing corn, writing contracts, entering corn tickets into Cinch/GP, balancing settlement sheets and canceling contracts
Mailing and receiving corn contracts
File all corn purchases and contracts according to state regulations
Record all incoming freight charges accurately in Cinch and GP
Responsible for completion Daily Position Report (DPR)
Assist with settling corn settlements in Cinch
Month End Corn Reconciliation Responsibilities
Make sure all corn tickets are entered and posted
Make sure all corn usage has been posted
Balance and close out days in Cinch
Run Cinch and GP reports save to file/folder (R drive)
Complete Excel Reconciliation Spreadsheet
Investigate errors and make corrections as needed
Give reports to Controller when complete
Other Feed Ingredients
Assist with purchasing ingredients for feed mills and toll mills
Assist with entering feed ingredients purchase orders into Pork Office
Responsible for entering ingredients purchases in Pork Office and GP
Accurately record trucking amounts in Pork Office and GP
Work with accounts receivable to correctly receive and invoice outside companies for ingredients purchased from NFP.
Enter weekly ingredient inventory in pork office, identify issues and email to feed mills for review
Review and enter ingredient BOL and invoices to Pork Office
Set up transportation as needed for ingredient delivery
Order bobtail LP as requested through calls/emails
Enter LP information in Pork Office
LP monthly pricing report
Grain/feed phone line – assist with corn purchasing and feed ordering calls
Monitor and clean up commodity emails as they are confirmed
Genetics Research Trials
Market 1 reports monthly
Enter rations formulations
Any other special projects as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two year's experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. General working knowledge of grain and or livestock production is helpful but not required. Excellent communication and organization skills required.
Interacts closely with Mill Managers, Service Staff, Accounting/Finance Department, Office Staff, Third Party Vendors/Suppliers.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Position also requires repetitive hand motion (typing) on a daily basis. Position involves repetitive hand motions (computer typing).
