GENERAL JOB STATEMENT: Assist with the daily aspects of swine breeding or farrowing. Breeding consists of maintaining breeding and farrowing targets, daily AI breeding, semen inventory and delivery, herd health and vaccination program, nutrition, training of replacement gilts. Other duties may be assigned.
Farrowing consists of maintaining farrowing targets, individual sow and piglet care, feeding, farrowing, piglet health and vaccination program, nutrition, and record keeping. Other duties may be assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend staff meetings and training meetings as scheduled
Follow all safety rules and practices and encourage coworkers to do the same
Follow all applicable bio-security measures per NFP policies
Regular, consistent attendance
Any and all other tasks and responsibilities as may be required by NFP
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Able to do basic math
Basic computer skills--MS Word and Excel
Ability to communicate effectively
Experience in swine industry preferred but not required
Interacts closely with the Farm Manager, and Department Heads
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to move throughout the farm; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb gates, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and communicate.
