GENERAL JOB STATEMENT
The Construction and Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily performance of the construction, maintenance, and repair projects of sow farms and Grow-Finish sites. Must be able and willing to travel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate as needed with contractors and/or vendors to coordinate needed materials and supplies.
Monitor and maintain appropriate ventilation systems.
Perform all maintenance tasks related to heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Perform general troubleshooting, diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust barn functions.
Perform highly diversified duties for installation and maintenance of production and facility equipment and machines.
Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Regular and routine communication with crew leader and department manager.
Use a variety of hand and power tools.
Create a positive work environment for co-workers by leading from example.
Define personal and business short and long-term goals.
Positively represent the company at work and in the community.
Other Requirements and Responsibilities
All other tasks and responsibilities as may be required by NFP.
Assure jobs are completed in a timely manner.
Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled and required.

Follow all safety rules and practices and encourage co-workers to do the same.
Regular and consistent attendance.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to be a team player and assist other areas as needed.
Must be able to use power washers, sort panels, disinfecting chemicals, fax machines, power tools, hand tools, and a welder.
Must have strong cleanliness habits always.
Must maintain valid driver's license and insurability.
Work effectively and non-defensively with a variety of personalities.
Work effectively and non-defensively with live animals.
High School Diploma/GED required. Experience in the construction and/or maintenance field preferred.
Works closely with the Construction – Maintenance Department, Production staff, and other general office staff.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have the ability to manipulate (lift, carry and/or move) light to medium weights of up to 75 pounds, bend, stoop, push, pull, stand and walk for extended periods of time on concrete, climb feed bins, and work in tight spaces. Must be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
