GENERAL JOB STATEMENT
The Grow Finish Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily performance of the construction, maintenance and repair projects of grow finish sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate as needed with contractors/vendors to coordinate needed materials and supplies.
Complete all required paperwork concerning preventative maintenance and alarm system/generator function tests.
Monitor and maintain appropriate ventilation systems.
Perform all maintenance tasks related to heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, locksmithing, welding, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Perform general troubleshooting, diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
Perform highly diversified duties for installation and maintenance of production and facility equipment and machines.
Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Regular and routine communication with crew leader and department manager.
Use a variety of hand and power tools.
Create a positive work environment for co-workers by leading from example.
Define personal and business short and long-term goals.
Positively represent the company at work and in the community.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to be a team player and assist other areas as needed.
Must have strong cleanliness habits always.
Must maintain valid driver's license and insurability.
Operate appropriate farm machinery such as a tractor or skid steer.
Work effectively and non-defensively with a variety of personalities.
Work effectively and non-defensively with live animals.
Must be able to be on call for alarms on rotating schedule.
High School Diploma or GED. Experience in the swine and maintenance industries preferred but not required.
Interacts closely with Purchasing Manager, office staff, Feed Mill Supervisor, Production staff, and vendors.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to move throughout the farm; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb 4-foot gates, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) medium to heavy weights of 50-75 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and communicate.
