GENERAL JOB STATEMENT:  Responsible for pick-up delivery of feed loads to various farm locations while ensuring compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations pertaining to commercial transportation.  Applicants must meet company insurability requirements and be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Inspects Truck for the following:
Adequate fuel and oil.
Ensure that brakes, windshield wipers, and lights are working.
Inspect fire extinguisher, and other safety equipment is aboard and in working order.
Reports to dispatcher when equipment does not work or is missing.
Verifies load against shipping papers.
Ensure that cargo is secure
Drives truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area.
Maintains an alert posture to prevent accidents.
Loading and Unloading bulk feed
Climbing feed bins
Cleaning up any spilled feed
Maintaining accurate internal and DOT paperwork according to state and federal regulations.
Perform emergency roadside repairs when necessary.
Comply with production staff on site needs

JOB SPECIFICATION:

            EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

No minimum requirement

SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
Able to do basic math – adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying.
Must be able to follow instructions.
Abel to read

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Interacts closely with the Feedmill Manager and Sow Farm department heads. Should have the ability to interface well with customers, vendors, employees and the public at large.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs while ascending or descending stairs or ladders.

SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A current valid class A CDL, medical card.
